Clinical trials<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Clinical trials are how new cancer treatments are carefully tested and shown to be safe, proven and effective. Being treated at a centre that is actively involved in clinical trials can also make a difference. Research has shown that patients who are treated in a centre actively involved in clinical trials do better than non research focused treatment centres.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Oncology West has been involved in over 100 clinical trials over the past 20 years, focusing on a wide range of cancers, including breast, lung, stomach, oesophageal, head and neck, melanoma, and colorectal cancers, as well as newer targeted and gene-based treatments. Some of this research has helped shape new treatment approaches used around the world, particularly in targeted therapies and immunotherapy. We also work closely with other cancer trial centres to share knowledge and improve care.\u00a0<\/p>

In Western Australia, we helped set up the Clin Refer trial collaborative, which helps connect patients with clinical trials that may be suitable for their specific condition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
